In accordance with the resolution of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 15/1 dated May 6, 2003, "On the series of collectible coins 'Kyrgyz Statehood', dedicated to the 2200th anniversary of Kyrgyz statehood and the 10th anniversary of the national currency," the coins "Genesis of Kyrgyz Statehood" and "10 years of the national currency" with a denomination of 10 soms were put into circulation in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic starting from May 8, 2003.
The collectible coin 'Genesis of Kyrgyz Statehood', dedicated to the 2200th anniversary of Kyrgyz statehood is minted from sterling silver and has international 'proof' quality. The coin has the status of an official means of payment in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The obverse side of the coin features images of archaeological monuments from various periods, from ancient times to the present, reflecting different epochs of the formation and development of Kyrgyz statehood. The bronze decorative overlay in the shape of a tiger's head - a symbol of power, dates back to the 5th-3rd centuries BC, the period of the emergence of Kyrgyz statehood. The Turgish coin is the first coin produced on the territory of Kyrgyzstan in the early 8th century AD. The Burana Tower is a unique monument of history and architecture of Kyrgyzstan from the 11th century and is one of the surviving relics of the Great Silk Road. The national flag of the Kyrgyz Republic is a symbol of the modern Kyrgyz state. All elements are depicted on a matte relief surface of decorative forms, which, combined with the mirrored background surface, creates the impression of a moving wheel. The unifying element of the coin's composition is a stylized image of the tündük of a Kyrgyz yurt, executed in gold, symbolizing the unity of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and the connection between generations.
The main compositional motif of the reverse side is the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic. At the bottom, framed by national ornamentation, is the year of the coin's issue (2003).
To avoid damage, the coins are placed in acrylic capsules. Each coin is placed in a separate box with an attached certificate.
