100 som banknotes


The 100 som banknote of the 2009 series is made of white paper measuring 132x63 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is blue. The paper contains colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. It features a local watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's denomination. A windowed metallic security thread with microtext "100 СОМ" is embedded in the paper. White coupon fields are located along the edges of the banknote. The portrait, the inscriptions "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", "ЖYЗ СОМ", the denomination "100", and the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic on the front side are made with relief printing.

The banknote has an original design and improved security features.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, there is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the serial number of the banknote printed in red ink. To the left of the portrait is a holographic stripe featuring a three-dimensional portrait of Toktogul Satylganov and the denomination figures. When the banknote is tilted, the denomination figures "100" change to an image of a chest. The holographic stripe has a colorless embossing in the form of the inscription "100 som," which appears when the banknote is tilted. The images located on the white watermark field align to form the word "сом" when viewed against the light. On the left side of the banknote is the portrait of Toktogul Satylganov, an outstanding Kyrgyz akyn-democrat and thinker, along with the inscription "ТОКТОГУЛ САТЫЛГАНОВ 1864-1933". The portrait is made with a microfont that repeatedly spells out "Токтогул Сатылганов" and is visible under magnification. In the lines to the right of the portrait, the repeated inscription "Кыргыз Банкы" can be seen under magnification. Below the portrait is the text "ЖYЗ СОМ". In the upper left and lower right corners are the denomination figures "100". In the lower right part is a blue rectangle containing a relief image of a national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the denomination "100" can be seen. The serial number is located in the lower right corner, printed in black ink.

On the reverse side of the banknote, at the top, is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ". In the upper right corner are the denomination figures "100". In the center of the banknote is the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station. The main thematic image consists of stylized micro-images of animals. Each architectural structure on the banknotes of the entire series is set against the backdrop of the beautiful peaks of Kyrgyzstan, symbolizing that the characters depicted on the banknotes have reached the peaks in their fields of literature, music, cinema, and fine arts. In the center of the banknote is an iridescent (made with translucent ink) stripe with the repeating denomination "100" and the inscription "Кыргыз Банкы". At the bottom of the banknote are the digital denomination "100", the text "ЖYЗ СОМ", and the year of issue of the banknote "2009".

The 100 som banknote of the 2002 series is made of white paper measuring 150x72 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is green-violet. The paper contains red and light green fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. It features a local watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's denomination. A windowed metallic security thread with microtext "100 СОМ" is embedded in the paper. The striped code is located on the left and right edges of the banknote.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, are the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic; three horizontal tactile marks for visually impaired individuals; the number "100", which contains microtext in the form of solid rows of the number "100" with increased relief, as well as the serial number of the banknote printed in red ink. Nearby is a silver foil in the shape of a pouch (көөкөр). The foil contains the denomination of the banknote and embossed lines. In the center, within the ornament, is an embossed image of the denomination "100"; a see-through register in the form of an ornament, the portrait of Toktogul Satylganov, an outstanding Kyrgyz akyn-democrat and thinker, and the inscription "ТОКТОГУЛ САТЫЛГАНОВ (1864-1933)". On the white coupon field is a conditional mark with increased relief for visually impaired individuals. At the bottom are the figures "100", which contain microtext in the form of solid rows of the number "100"; the text "ЖЪЗ СОМ", which is underlined by a line of microtext "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ". To the right is the serial number printed in black ink (the size of the digits increases from top to bottom) and a vertical ornamental stripe. At the bottom is a rectangle containing a relief image of a national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the denomination "100" can be seen.

On the reverse side of the banknote, at the top, are the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the number "100", which contains microtext of the denomination "100". In the center is an image of the majestic mountain "Khan-Tengri", symbolizing the freedom and independence of the Kyrgyz Republic; to the right is a see-through register in the form of an ornament. In the ornament that forms the background grid, there is microtext indicating the denomination of the banknote ("ЖYЗ СОМ") and a vertical ornamental stripe. In the lower left part of the banknote is an iridescent stripe with a national ornament made with pearlescent ink. At the bottom are the digital denomination "100", the text "ЖYЗ СОМ", and the year of issue of the banknote "2002".

The 100 som banknote of the 1995 series is made of white paper measuring 135x65 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is yellow-green. The banknote has a white field on three sides, 4 mm wide. The paper contains red, green, and blue fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. It features a local watermark with the portrait of the akyn Toktogul Satylganov. A visible vertical security thread with microtext "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" is embedded in the paper.
