20 som banknote


The 20 som banknote of the 2009 series is made of white paper measuring 120x58 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is red. The paper features a local watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote. A windowed metallic security thread with the microtext "20 СОМ" is embedded in the paper. White coupon fields are located along the edges of the banknote.

The banknote has an original design and improved security features.

On the front side at the top of the banknote, there is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the serial number of the banknote printed in red ink. The images located on the white watermark field align to form the word "сом" when viewed through the light. On the left side of the banknote is the portrait of Togolok Moldo - a poet, writer, and enlightener - along with the inscription "Тоголок Молдо 1860-1942". The portrait is created using a microfont that repeatedly spells "Тоголок Молдо" and is visible under magnification. In the lines located to the right of the portrait, the repeated inscription "Кыргыз Банкы" can be seen when magnified. To the right of the portrait is an image of a komuz. Below the portrait is the text "ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ". The denomination numbers "20" are located in the upper left and lower right corners. The serial number is printed in black ink in the lower right corner.

On the reverse side at the top of the banknote, there is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the denomination numbers "20". In the center of the banknote is an image of Tash Rabat, one of the oldest structures on the Great Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan. The main thematic image consists of stylized micro-images of plants. Each architectural monument on the banknotes of the entire series is set against the backdrop of the most beautiful peaks of Kyrgyzstan, symbolizing that the figures depicted on the banknotes have reached the peaks in their fields of "literature, music, cinema, and fine arts." At the bottom of the banknote is the digital denomination "20", the text "ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ", and the year of issue "2009".

The 20 som banknote of the 2002 series is made of white paper measuring 135x65 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is ochre-red. The paper contains red and light green fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. The paper has a local watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's denomination. A windowed metallic security thread with microtext "20 СОМ" is embedded in the paper. The portrait, the inscriptions "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", "ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ", the denomination "20", and the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic on the front side are made with relief printing. The barcode is located on the left and right edges of the banknote.

On the front side of the banknote at the top are: the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, one diagonal line marking for visually impaired people; the number "20", containing microtext in the form of solid rows of the number "20", as well as the serial number of the banknote printed in red ink. In the center within the ornament is an image of the denomination "20" in golden ink, a see-through register in the form of an ornament; the portrait of Togolok Moldo - a poet, writer, and enlightener - and the inscription "ТОГОЛОК МОЛДО (1860-1942)". On the white coupon field is a conditional mark with increased relief for visually impaired people. At the bottom are the numbers "20", containing microtext in the form of solid rows of the number "20"; the text "ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ", which is underlined by a line of microtext "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ". To the right is the serial number printed in black ink (the size of the numbers increases from top to bottom), as well as a vertical ornamental stripe. At the bottom is a rectangle containing a relief image of the national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the digital denomination "20" can be seen.

On the reverse side of the banknote at the top are the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the number "20", which contains microtext in the form of the digital denomination "20". In the center is the Mausoleum of Manas (14th century), and to the right is a see-through register in the form of an ornament. To the left in the ornament forming the background grid, there is microtext indicating the denomination of the banknote ("ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ") and a vertical ornamental stripe. At the bottom is the digital denomination "20", the text "ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ", and the year of issue "2002".

The 20 som banknote of the 1994 series is made of white paper measuring 135x65 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is red-yellow. The banknote has a white field on three sides, 4 mm wide. The paper contains red, green, and blue fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. The paper has a local watermark featuring the portrait of the akyn Toktogul Satylganov. A visible vertical security thread with microtext "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" is embedded in the paper. The 20 som banknote of the 1993 series is made of white paper measuring 140x70 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is blue. The paper contains colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. The paper features watermarks in the form of an "eagle" placed across the entire surface of the banknote.

On the front side of the banknote at the top are the text "КЫРГЫЗСТАН БАНКЫ" and the number with the inscription "20 СОМ". In the center on the left is a see-through register and a national ornament, and on the right is an image of the monument to the hero of the national epic Manas. At the bottom are the numbers "20", the text "ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ", the series and the number of the banknote printed in black ink. The series consists of one digit and two letters, and the number consists of eight digits. On the white coupon field is the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On the reverse side of the banknote at the top are the number with the inscription "20 СОМ" and the text "КЫРГЫЗСТАН БАНКЫ". In the center is the Mausoleum of Manas (14th century), along the edge of the horizontal ornamental stripe runs the inscription in microtext "КЫРГЫЗСТАН БАНКЫ".
