500 som banknote


500 som banknote of the 2010 sample is made of white paper measuring 144x68 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is purple. The paper contains colorless fibers that fluoresce red under UV light. The paper has a local watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's numerical denomination. The banknote contains a windowed metallic security thread with microtext "500 som". White coupon fields are located along the edges of the banknote.
The portrait, the inscriptions "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", "БЕШ ЖYЗ СОМ", the denomination "500", and the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic on the front side are made with relief printing.

The banknote has an original design and enhanced security features.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, is the denomination "500", containing microimages of a snow leopard, the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", and the serial number of the banknote, printed in red ink.

On the left side of the banknote is the portrait of Sayakbay Karalaev, the great storyteller of the epic "Manas", and the inscription "САЯКБАЙ КАРАЛАЕВ (1894-1971)". The portrait is made with a microfont that repeatedly spells out "Саякбай Каралаев" and is visible under magnification. To the left of the portrait is a holographic strip featuring a colored portrait of S. Karalaev, the inscription "500 som", and a falcon. When the banknote is tilted, the direction of the falcon's flight changes from right to left. In the lines located to the right of the portrait, the repeating inscription "Кыргыз Банкы" is visible under magnification. Below the portrait is the text "БЕШ ЖYЗ СОМ".

On the white coupon field to the left of the portrait, the serial number is vertically positioned in black ink. To the right of the security thread is a relief image of the sculpture of Manas, which stands out against a light brown circle. The images on the watermark field align to form the word "сом" when viewed against the light. In the lower right corner is a light brown rectangle containing a relief image of a national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the numerical denomination "500" can be seen. In the lower right corner are the digits of the denomination "500".

On the reverse side of the banknote is the Mausoleum of Manas against the backdrop of the beautiful peaks of Kyrgyzstan. At the top is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the numerical denomination "500".

In the center of the banknote is an iridescent (made with translucent ink) stripe with a repeating denomination "500" and the inscription "Кыргыз Банкы". At the bottom of the banknote is the numerical denomination "500", the text "БЕШ ЖYЗ СОМ", and the year of issue of the banknote "2010".

The paper contains red and light green fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. The paper has a local watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's numerical denomination. The banknote contains a windowed metallic security thread with microtext "500 som" and an ornament. The strip code is located on the left and right edges of the banknote.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ", the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, four vertical strokes for visually impaired individuals; the number "500", containing microtext in the form of solid rows of the number "500" with increased relief; as well as the serial number of the banknote, printed in red ink. Next to the serial number is a hologram in the shape of a stylized image of a golden eagle and the numerical denomination "500". The hologram features a national ornament, the numerical denomination "500", and the international code of the Kyrgyz national currency (KGS). In the center of the ornament is an embossed image of the denomination "500"; a see-through register in the form of an ornament; the portrait of Sayakbay Karalaev - the great storyteller of the epic "Manas", from whose words the complete versions of the trilogy of the epic "Manas", "Semetei", "Seitek" were recorded), and the inscription "САЯКБАЙ КАРАЛАЕВ (1894-1971)". On the white coupon field is a conditional mark with increased relief for visually impaired individuals. At the bottom is the number "500", containing microtext in the form of solid rows of the number "500"; the text "БЕШ ЖҮЗ СОМ", which is underlined by a line of microtext "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ". To the right is the serial number, printed in black ink (the size of the digits increases from top to bottom), as well as a vertical ornamental stripe. At the bottom is a rectangle containing a relief image of the national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the numerical denomination "500" can be seen.

On the reverse side of the banknote, at the top, is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the number "500", which contains microtext in the form of the numerical denomination "500". In the center are the figure of the storyteller and stylized fairy-tale images from the epic "Manas". To the right is a see-through register in the shape of a triangle. In the ornament forming the background grid, there is microtext "БЕШ ЖҮЗ СОМ", indicating the denomination of the banknote. On the vertical ornamental stripe is the inscription "БЕШ ЖҮЗ СОМ". At the bottom are the numerical denomination "500" and the year of issue of the banknote "2000". On the left side of the banknote is a golden rectangle with a national ornament and the numerical denomination "500", made with iridescent ink.

The 500 som banknotes of 2005 have more advanced technical characteristics to increase the lifespan of the banknotes:
· the banknote base is made of cotton banknote paper with improved wear resistance and a special protective coating to enhance the dirt-repellent properties of the paper;
· to increase the wear resistance of the banknotes, the corners of the banknotes are reinforced with a specially designed element called Cornerstone;
· measures have been taken to improve the hologram's resistance to external influences;
· the year of issue 2005 is indicated on the reverse side of the banknote.
