“The volumes of QR payments reached record levels:
- In 2025, through the main operator, there were 525.1 million transactions amounting to 908.6 billion soms, which is 8 and 10 times more than in 2024,” the regulator reports.
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasizes that the republic is the only country in Central Asia where intersystem integration of various payment systems has been implemented, based on the national standard for QR codes.
The ELQR system unites 20 commercial banks and 14 payment organizations.
“The measures implemented in 2025 to develop QR payments have become an important step towards creating a modern cashless payment infrastructure and laid the groundwork for further progress in the fast payment system,” notes the NBKR.
