Three Medals on the First Day: Kyrgyz Wrestlers Successfully Started at the MUHAMET MALO–2026 Ranking Tournament

On February 25, the second ranked tournament in sports wrestling MUHAMET MALO–2026 began in Tirana, the capital of Albania. The first competitions featured freestyle wrestlers competing in weight categories up to 57, 61, 65, 70, and 74 kg.

On the first day of the competition, nine representatives from Kyrgyzstan took to the mat.

As a result of the matches, the Kyrgyzstan team managed to win three medals.

The gold medal in the weight category up to 70 kg was won by Ernazar Akmataliev, who took first place. The silver medal in the weight up to 74 kg was awarded to Orozobek Toktomambetov, while the bronze medal in the category up to 70 kg went to Zalkarbek Tabaldiev.

Thus, the Kyrgyzstan team has one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.

On February 26, the competitions will continue, and wrestlers will compete in weight categories up to 79, 92, 97, and 125 kg. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by Adilet Maratbaev (up to 79 kg) and Yakov Chaplin (up to 92 kg).

Additionally, on this day, competitions among women in the categories up to 50 and 55 kg will start, however, representatives from Kyrgyzstan will not participate in these weight classes.
