
At the international tournament MUHAMET MALO-2026 held in Tirana, Ernazar Akmataliev won in the weight category up to 70 kg.
According to information from the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Akmataliev began his path to gold from the quarterfinals, where he managed to defeat the Russian wrestler, reigning European champion Ibrahim Ibrahimov, with a minimal score of 4:3.
In the quarterfinals, the Kyrgyz athlete confidently won against Moldovan wrestler Vasiliy Diakon, finishing the match with a score of 6:1. The semifinal bout against Kazakhstani Maiis Aliyev also went successfully — Akmataliev won with a score of 12:9.
In the decisive final match, he faced American athlete Alec William Pantaleo and managed to clinch victory, finishing the encounter with a score of 3:2, which earned him the gold medal of the tournament.
Thus, Ernazar Akmataliev became the first to win a gold medal for the Kyrgyzstan national team at this international tournament.
