Accumulated deposits in commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 880 billion soms — 45% of GDP

- As of February 1, 2026, the total volume of deposits in commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan reached 880 billion soms, which accounts for 45% of GDP, according to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

According to the study, 64% of the deposit base consists of funds in the national currency.

In terms of maturity distribution, the largest share is held by current accounts — 44%, while demand deposits account for 24%, and term deposits make up 32% of the total volume.

In January 2026, the weighted average interest rate was 4%, which is an increase compared to 3.7% a year earlier.
