Scientists revealed a simple 'formula for longevity'

A group of researchers from the United Kingdom concluded that the right combination of coffee, tea, and water can contribute to increased longevity.

In their study published in the British Journal of Nutrition (BJN), the scientists noted that the lowest risk of premature death is observed in people who consume about seven to eight cups of these beverages per day, maintaining a ratio of two parts coffee to three parts tea.

The research is based on data from over 182,000 participants from the UK Biobank database, who were monitored for 13 years. Participants who adhered to this balanced regimen experienced fewer fatal outcomes from cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive diseases. However, to achieve a positive effect, the total fluid intake must exceed four cups per day.

The authors of the study explain that coffee contains chlorogenic acid, which protects blood vessels and the intestines, while tea is rich in catechins, which have anti-inflammatory properties. The combined consumption of these beverages enhances the body's antioxidant defense.

Nevertheless, experts warn against excessive caffeine consumption: more than three cups of coffee a day can lead to insomnia and increased heart rate, so it is important to maintain moderation.
