The outage affected not only apartments and houses but also traffic lights and street lighting, resulting in many areas being plunged into darkness. Additionally, some metro and suburban transport lines temporarily suspended their operations.
According to information from the electricity network operator Enedis, as reported by Le Parisien, the outage lasted approximately five minutes. However, for a number of homes, this time turned out to be significantly longer.
The cause of the failure was a technical incident at the RTE substation located in Issy-les-Moulineaux. This company is responsible for managing high-voltage power lines in France.
Enedis expressed its apologies for the inconvenience caused.
