A fire broke out at the climate conference COP30 in the Brazilian city of Belém. According to Kazinform, citing The Guardian, fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Evacuation of people was carried out from the pavilion where the fire occurred, and firefighters arrived at the scene. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of dozens of firefighters, the fire was quickly extinguished.

Brazil's Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, noted: "The investigation will determine the causes of the fire, but I do not believe it was a deliberate act."

The incident at the summit added tension to the ongoing negotiations as the conference was approaching the final stages of agreements.

American activist Jess Vespont commented: "This tragic fire, which disrupted the UN's climate work and hindered negotiations, became a vivid metaphor for what is happening."
