According to Noem, immigrants can receive the specified amount through the CBP Home app developed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection after their return to their home country is confirmed. She added, "Undocumented immigrants should take advantage of this opportunity and leave the country voluntarily, otherwise we will find them, arrest them, and they will not be able to return."
It is worth noting that in May of this year, the Department of Homeland Security already announced a program under which immigrants opting for voluntary return could receive $1,000 and compensation for their ticket home. The agency emphasized that such an initiative saves an average of $17,100 that would have been spent on detaining and deporting migrants.
