The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced an increase in financial incentives for illegal migrants who agree to leave the country by the end of the current year. This information was published in an official press release from the agency.

According to the statement, migrants who are in the U.S. without legal documentation can receive $3,000 and a free plane ticket to their home country if they register for voluntary deportation through the CBP Home mobile app. Participation in this program also exempts them from fines and penalties for violations of immigration laws.

Kristi Noem, the head of DHS, reported that starting in January 2025, 1.9 million illegal migrants have already voluntarily left the country, and tens of thousands have taken advantage of the CBP Home program. She noted that in anticipation of the Christmas holidays, authorities decided to "triple the incentive" for migrants; however, this offer will only be valid until the end of the year.

"Illegal migrants should take advantage of this opportunity. Otherwise, they may be detained, arrested, and deported, and they will no longer be able to return," Kristi Noem warned.

DHS also emphasized that the self-deportation process through the CBP Home app is simple and quick: you need to download the app, enter your information, and then the agency will organize and pay for the trip.

Those who do not take advantage of the offer within the specified time face the risk of forced arrest and deportation with a lifetime ban on entering the U.S., the department stated.
