The authorities of St. Petersburg have introduced a ban on migrant workers serving as taxi drivers and couriers, which will remain in effect until the end of 2026. This decision was made by Governor Alexander Beglov and announced by the city administration's press service.

According to the new decree, employers in the city are prohibited from hiring foreign citizens with work patents in certain sectors of the economy.

In particular, the ban applies to areas such as "passenger taxi services and rental of passenger cars with drivers," as well as "courier services and delivery by various means of transport," as clarified by the press service.

Additionally, foreigners are prohibited from delivering food to homes and engaging in other types of courier work.
