Igor Dudnik, acting head of the migration department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, emphasized that migrants are required to enable push notifications in the app to receive alerts about issues with data transmission.
If a foreign worker enters a region where the "Amina" app has not yet been launched, they must register at their actual place of residence. However, upon returning to the Moscow region, the migrant will need to re-register through the app.
It is important to note that the deadline for foreigners to register in "Amina" expires in November. Otherwise, they may face deportation. The use of the app allows them to avoid the need for a personal visit to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and notifying the citizens providing housing. Now, migrants report their addresses and any changes themselves through "Amina." A lack of geolocation information for more than three working days may also lead to removal from the registry.
Additionally, a mandatory biometric identification system for foreign citizens operates in all Moscow airports: upon entry and exit, they undergo photography and fingerprinting. Exceptions are made for citizens of Belarus, diplomats, employees of international organizations, and children under six years old.
To access the "Amina" app, migrants will need an electronic card, which will be valid starting from the end of 2024. Police officers will be able to verify information regarding fingerprinting, medical examinations, patent payments, and any possible restrictions.
