Speaking online at a logistics exhibition in Bishkek, he emphasized that Kyrgyzstan aims to change its status from a landlocked country to a transit state. This implies a transition from the concept of "Land Locked countries" to "Land Linked country."
Seitov noted that Kyrgyzstan should occupy an important place as a link between Europe and Asia, as well as between the northern and southern regions of the world.
During his speech, he invited Kyrgyz construction companies specializing in the construction of bridges, roads, and warehouses, as well as transport and logistics firms, to participate in the construction of a railway connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. According to him, the republic has sufficient financial resources to improve border and transport infrastructure. Additionally, loans and grants have been attracted for the development of the postal and logistics sector.
The Deputy Minister noted that it is planned to increase the contribution of the transport sector to the gross domestic product to 1.5 billion dollars.
Currently, the volume of railway transportation in Kyrgyzstan is about 9.2 million tons, while the ministry expects this figure to grow to 15 million tons, and the road network and infrastructure will also be expanded.
Seitov added that to increase the volumes of air and freight transportation, it is necessary to attract the private sector and investments.
