During the discussion at the KyrgyzTransLogistic exhibition, which is taking place in Bishkek, Viktor Dosenko, head of the International Academy of Transport, emphasized the lack of standards for toll roads in the CIS. He called for the necessity of their development, noting that the requirements for such roads should be significantly higher than for regular highways.

“Toll roads should, by definition, be faster and safer. However, to date, such standards do not exist in our countries, which poses a serious problem. Logistics companies need to have a choice of routes and confidence in the quality of the roads on which they transport their cargo. Each section of the road must meet established norms,” said Dosenko.

The absence of standards affects all stages—from design and construction to management and operation of toll roads. The connection between technology and transport logistics is evident. Requirements for toll roads should be developed at the level of interstate associations, such as the EAEU, CIS, SCO, and BRICS. Kyrgyzstan occupies an important place in the logistics network, and this should be a cause for reflection, added Viktor Alexandrovich.
