Russian. Born in the village of Ostrovka, North Kazakhstan region.
Graduated from the Moscow Historical-Archive Institute (1953), part-time from the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University (Moscow).
Worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Kyrgyz SSR, Deputy Director of the Institute of History, member of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences, scientific consultant at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the history of Kyrgyzstan and the history of the USSR in the 19th century; interethnic relations.
Awarded medals of the USSR.
Honored Worker of Science of the Kirghiz SSR (1974).
Published over 200 scientific works, co-author of the “History of the Kirghiz SSR” in all editions.
