At the KyrgyzTransLogistic 2025 exhibition, held on the international stage, Igor Golubev, who holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Association of Cargo Carriers of Kyrgyzstan, expressed the opinion on the necessity of creating a merchant fleet for the country, despite the lack of direct access to the ocean. He emphasized the importance of this step for the development of logistics and the business sector.
Golubev cited Mongolia as an example, which, despite not having access to the sea, successfully manages a large fleet to ensure its maritime transportation. "We can learn from other countries to also develop our capabilities in this area," he added.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan has the potential to create its own fleet that could operate on global waterways. The development of this direction is possible in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the country, he noted.
