“Do not trust such candidates, they are liars and fraudsters”
According to Dairbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy department of the presidential administration, a number of candidates for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh are claiming the achievements of the government as their own. He emphasized that, although the official election campaign has not yet started, some candidates are already repeating old mistakes by presenting the government's accomplishments as their own.
“Some of them spread false information through WhatsApp groups, claiming that schools, roads, kindergartens, and other social facilities built by the government were realized thanks to their initiative,” Orunbekov noted.
He also added that President Sadyr Japarov has repeatedly emphasized that deputies are not responsible for the construction of schools and roads — that is the task of the state. The president urged voters to be vigilant and not to believe the promises of such candidates. Unfortunately, some individuals who previously had no relation to public service and were simply “bloggers” are now registered as candidates and are conducting dishonest campaigning, as the official claims.
Orunbekov called on the citizens of Kyrgyzstan to be cautious and not to trust such candidates. He stated: “If a candidate is already attributing the achievements of the state to themselves before the elections, then they are actually a liar and a fraudster. If they become a deputy, they will mislead people even more.” He also mentioned that there are candidates who claim to have received “blessings from above” and that they have already received warnings, and strict measures will be taken against them.
“Dear voters, carefully evaluate the promises of each candidate, consider their level of education, intellect, and moral qualities. Do not trust those who say they have done the work of the government and claim: ‘I did this’; such candidates do not deserve the trust of the people,” the official warned.
