According to information published in The New York Times, large-scale celebrations began in Iran in response to reports of Khamenei's death.

Despite state media declaring a period of mourning and broadcasting religious hymns, a completely different atmosphere is observed in the cities.

Videos are appearing on social media from Tehran and other major cities, where thousands of cars are creating traffic jams, honking loudly. The videos show people singing, dancing, and setting off fireworks.

At the same time, the country's official media are showing footage of several dozen people mourning Khamenei's death.

On the same day, February 28, the U.S. and Israel began military actions against Iran. Earlier, the authorities in Tehran had denied reports of Khamenei's death for a day following a strike on his residence.
