According to information provided by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, the operation began with the declaration of a special state of emergency in the country, reports the Times of Israel.

Iranian news agencies report explosions in central Tehran. The Iranian state television and radio company claims that at least three explosions can be heard, and residents of the city are experiencing panic.

The Fars News agency reports that several rockets were fired at University Street and the Jamhuri area.

According to Israeli sources, about 30 targets were hit during the operation, including the residence of the President of Iran, the headquarters of Iranian intelligence, and Tehran Airport. The Associated Press adds that one of the potential targets could have been the residence of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Reuters reporters learned that the Supreme Leader of Iran has been evacuated to a safe location and is currently absent from Tehran.

Israel has also closed its airspace in anticipation of possible retaliatory actions from Iran.

According to a senior Israeli security official, the operation was carefully planned and conducted in cooperation with the United States.

Some sources suggest that among the attacked sites could be Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, but there is no official confirmation of this information yet.

The situation remains tense, and both sides have not yet provided data on the extent of the destruction or possible casualties.
