Iran has also put the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its air defense on high alert.

While U.S. President Donald Trump considers the possibility of using military force in response to the brutal actions of Iranian authorities against protesters, the Pentagon is beginning to reduce the number of its military personnel at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

According to CBS, this partial troop withdrawal is a precautionary measure.

Al Udeid is considered one of the key American air bases in the Middle East, where approximately 10,000 military and civilian personnel are stationed.

Iranian officials have threatened to attack American military facilities in the region in the event of aggression from the U.S.

According to the BBC, there is also a partial withdrawal of British military personnel from Al Udeid Air Base.

Britain has decided to temporarily close its embassy in Tehran, moving to remote operations.

All staff of the diplomatic mission, including the ambassador, have been evacuated due to the assessment of the current situation and to ensure safety, as reported by a British government representative.

This week, Trump stated that the U.S. intends to take "very strong actions" against Iran if the country's authorities begin executing protesters.

On Wednesday, he reported that, according to information from his administration, "killings in Iran are stopping, executions are not planned."

In response to a journalist's question, Trump added that this information came from "very important sources on the other side," and expressed hope that it would prove to be true.

Additionally, the U.S. president was asked if military actions were excluded, to which he replied: "We will be monitoring the situation."

Iran, in turn, stated that it would respond to any attack from the U.S. On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, speaking on Fox News, noted that Donald Trump made a mistake by ordering the bombing of Iran last year: "If you try to repeat a failed experience, you will get the same result."

According to the Iranian human rights organization HRANA, 2,403 people have died during the protests, and at least 18,434 people have been arrested during the unrest.

The organization calls on UN member states to "recognize the crimes committed by security forces" during the protests.
