Recently, a new far-right party named TRUMP was founded in Belgium, which stands for Tous Réunis pour l’Union des Mouvements Populistes, translating to "United for the Union of Populist Movements." The party's founder, Salvatore Nicotra, claims that "Donald Trump is a symbol of populism."
The TRUMP party is a continuation of previously existing political movements Chez Nous and Front National in Belgium. According to Euronews, its founder, Nicotra, previously held the position of chairman of the Belgian National Front.
In an interview with the Brussels publication BRUZZ, Nicotra emphasized that Trump sees his country as a united nation, which contrasts with the positions of Vlaams Belang, Belgium's largest right-wing party advocating for Flemish separatism.
According to BRUZZ, the executive committee of the new political force includes Emanuele Licari, who previously ran for Vlaams Belang in Brussels but was expelled from the party after praising fascist ideas.
The TRUMP party plans to participate in the 2029 elections at both the federal level and in the European Parliament elections, as well as intends to nominate its candidates for regional and municipal elections. The official presentation of the party is scheduled for November 30.
At the same time, Belgium's five-party coalition continues discussions regarding the budget, which have been ongoing for several months. Prime Minister Bart De Wever has set a goal to cut expenses by 10 billion euros.
Last week, De Wever appealed to parliament, asking for time until Christmas for the government to reach an agreement on the budget, according to local media.
