Khamenei emphasized: “Americans must understand that if they start a war, it will affect the entire region,” reports Iran's state television and radio company iribnews.
According to him, threats from the US administration, such as mentions of fighter jets and warships, are not new. “The US has repeatedly threatened, claiming that 'all options are on the table,' including military actions,” he noted.
The leader of Iran also added that Tehran does not intend to initiate military actions and does not plan to attack other countries. “The Iranian people will respond harshly to any attack and aggression,” he stated.
Speaking about the recent street protests, Khamenei compared them to an attempted coup. “These events resembled a coup. The attempt was suppressed. Their goal was to destroy the key management structures of the country, which is why they attacked the police, state institutions, the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, banks, and mosques, burning the Quran. They targeted centers of power. It was akin to an attempt to overthrow the government,” Khamenei concluded.
