On January 17 at 19:11 local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3 occurred in southern Kyrgyzstan. This information was provided by the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter of the tremors was located within Kyrgyzstan, 5 kilometers southwest of the village of Sovetskoye, as well as 9 kilometers southeast of the village of Sary-Otek and 18 kilometers southeast of the village of Kyzyl-Korgon. The distance to Batken was 42 kilometers to the northeast.

According to the institute, the intensity of the sensations in the village of Sovetskoye was 2.5.
