Pyotr Petrovich Sidorov, a sergeant, was born in 1926 in the village of Maloye Khrenovo, located in the Sasovo district. Since 1943, he served at the front, where, as a flamethrower, he demonstrated incredible courage and heroism during the storming of Berlin. He spent the last years of his life in the Kirghiz SSR and passed away in 1972.
Gennady Manukhin, chairman of the Sasovo District Duma, reported that during a meeting, the head of the district, Evgeniya Rubtsova, announced the deplorable condition of the grave of the Hero of the Soviet Union and the need for funding for its restoration.
The deputies quickly raised two-thirds of the necessary amount, and the remaining part was contributed by Vladimir Rozhkov, a deputy of the Ryazan Regional Duma.
