The canal runs through the rural districts of Iskhak Polotkhan and Moldoniya, including the village of Alga.
According to the project, the canal's capacity will be increased by 10 cubic meters per second. The total length of the canal is 35 kilometers, and the cost of modernization is estimated at 425 million 569 thousand soms.
Previously, the Nurgaziev canal provided irrigation for 5 thousand hectares of agricultural land. After the completion of the work, the water supply to these areas will improve, and an additional 500 hectares of land will be developed.
The canal was put into operation in 1978. In recent years, due to the wear and tear of the structure, water losses have increased, leading to a shortage of irrigation water in some areas.
It is expected that the project will be completed by 2029.
