On December 12, the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev will host the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the institution.

According to information provided by the museum's press service, the KNMFA has transformed over its nine decades into a multi-layered space that combines the functions of a repository of artistic values and a venue for educational events, dialogue, and self-reflection.

“The museum has evolved from a small gallery into a significant cultural institution with a rich history. To reflect this process, we explored the internal archive, gathering documents that reflect various stages of its existence. We invite visitors to immerse themselves in history through museum artifacts: vintage photographs, videos, posters, as well as archival letters that document landmark events and create a context of time,” the message notes.

The preparation of the exhibition involved not only museum staff but also invited artists and composers who will present their multimedia installations. The event will include guided tours, lectures, and a book club.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until December 20.
