According to the announcement, for nine decades, the KNMFA has served as a living, multi-layered organism, simultaneously acting as a repository of artistic heritage and a space for educational leisure, dialogue, and reflection.
"MUSEALE represents the inner essence of the museum — invisible yet vital. It is not just a building or a collection, but a weaving of labor, human stories, architectural changes, and cultural missions," the statement reads.
Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the past through fragments of museum memory: historical photographs, video recordings, posters, archival documents, and letters that illustrate museum events and create a context of time. The preparation of the exhibition involved not only museum staff but also their friends, as well as invited artists and composers who developed multimedia installations reflecting their perception of the museum and the stories told. This is a collaborative effort of the museum, artistic, and musical communities,” the organizers added.
Various events are planned as part of the exhibition: on December 13 at 14:00, there will be a lecture on the formation of the KNMFA collection named after G. Aitiev; on December 14 at 14:00, a book club titled "Radical Museology" will take place; from December 16 to 18, guided tours of the exhibition will be organized; and on December 19 at 16:00, a performance titled "Rehearsal" by the creative association TSIKAD (Center for Kyrgyz Drama) will be held.
