On December 4, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin will host the opening of the Center for the Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies, as well as a thematic photo exhibition dedicated to the Day of the Epic "Manas".

According to sources at KRSU, this university has become the first in Bishkek to create a comprehensive center focused on the study of the Kyrgyz language, the epic "Manas," and the tradition of storytelling.

This Center was established with the aim of systematic work on the spiritual heritage of the Kyrgyz people. Among the main tasks of the Center are:

- analysis of the trilogy of the epic "Manas";

- development of a scientific base in the field of Manas studies and epic studies;

- support and promotion of the Kyrgyz language;

- stimulating youth interest in national culture;

- preservation and popularization of the historical, cultural, and spiritual values of the Kyrgyz people;

- creating conditions for intercultural and scientific interaction.

The Center will engage in both educational training for students and scientific research, popularization of cultural heritage, as well as conducting lectures, expeditions, creative meetings, and academic events.

The Center will be headed by Talantaaly Bakchiev — a manaschy, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and a distinguished figure in the culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the president of the International Association of Manasologists.

The thematic photo exhibition reflects the centuries-old traditions of storytelling and the history of the development of the art of storytelling, in particular, the greatest manaschy of the 20th century — Sayakbay Karalaev (1894-1971).
