The Eurasian Center for the Russian Language, Culture, and Inclusion has opened in Bishkek, becoming a place for the study of Russian culture and language. Currently, around five hundred students are enrolled, and the number of applications has already reached 600-700. This was reported by Olga Sharapova, a psychologist and art therapist at the center.
A unique feature of the center's work is the opportunity for children to freely move between activities. "If the theater group doesn't suit them, the child can switch to drawing classes. And if that doesn't spark their interest, we have other options: chess, 'fun Russian', and much more, all in a playful format," Sharapova shared.
Moreover, the center has a calm atmosphere where students can take a break at any moment, sit on cushions, or engage in drawing. Sharapova, who has been working with children from the age of 6, also conducts art therapy groups for parents and teachers.
The center actively engages with elderly people as well. As Sharapova notes, older participants, usually aged 65 and above, come here to engage in creative activities and drawing. "I don't just suggest they draw, but as a psychologist, I help them understand what their drawings express and how they can use creativity to improve their well-being," she explained.
The center's program is diverse, and educators strive to expand it, including the possibility of holding discussions on relevant topics and organizing parenting schools. "Although such events already exist, they are still small. We want to create a space where parents can share experiences, especially with the youth," Sharapova added. "We have many ambitious and interesting plans, and we are just at the beginning of our journey," she noted.
