“They both need to consult specialists”
In Manas, an incident occurred in which a girl bit off part of her partner's tongue and lip during a kiss. Despite the fact that neither participant wished to file a report with law enforcement, the girl later explained that her reaction was triggered by an attempted rape.
Psychologist Olga Bidenko noted in an interview with Vesti.kg that “they both need to consult specialists to understand what happened and work through the consequences.” She added: “If they had a trusting romantic relationship, such a situation would hardly have occurred. When there is trust and tenderness, it helps to avoid conflicts. It is possible that negative experiences with a previous partner could have provoked such a reaction, and the aggression from the guy could have exacerbated the situation, leading to the girl's response.”
Bidenko also reminded that in moments of strong emotions, people can act instinctively and thoughtlessly. “In moments of intense passion, deep instincts can awaken. By our nature, we are endowed not only with sexual energy but also with aggression, which comes from our ancestors. In any case, working with a psychologist is necessary for both to avoid further trauma and to help the girl not get stuck in discussions that may hurt her. The guy should also seek help, as society can quickly create assumptions and gossip,” she emphasized.
To prevent such situations, it is important to be able to control one’s emotions. “A person who is self-aware and works on their behavior, who can manage anger and love, significantly reduces the likelihood of conflicts,” the specialist concluded.
