The installation of new Category III (CAT III) light signaling equipment at Manas International Airport is currently in an active phase. This project plays a key role in enhancing flight safety and the reliability of airport operations, as reported by representatives of the OJSC "International Airports of Kyrgyzstan".

The CAT III system is designed to ensure the acceptance and departure of aircraft even in heavy fog and low visibility conditions. This will significantly reduce the number of flight delays and cancellations, which, in turn, will improve the stability of air traffic, the company noted.

The installation process is being carried out in compliance with international civil aviation standards and is aimed at further modernization of Manas Airport.

However, the final decision on landing is made by the crew of each aircraft, taking into account the actual weather conditions and the capabilities of the specific aircraft.

In December of this year, at Manas Airport, as well as at other airports in the country, many flights were canceled and rescheduled due to heavy fog. This occurred because of poor visibility on the runways, complicating the takeoff and landing of aircraft.
