According to Altynbek Mambetov, the director of infrastructure and regional development of the State Enterprise "Airports of Kyrgyzstan," modernization of the airport's lighting and signaling equipment is planned for January, raising its category from first to third.
“Currently, modernization work is underway. A test launch and staff training are scheduled for the next month. Full operation of the system will begin by the end of January, allowing flights to be accepted regardless of weather conditions,” said Alena Khomenko, head of the company's press service.
She also noted that passengers waiting for delayed flights are provided with water and charging devices, and the café continues to operate. If the delay exceeds three hours, passengers are provided with hot meals.
