The situation with food supplies in the world is worsening. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has emphasized that resources to help all those in need are extremely insufficient.

According to WFP forecasts, by 2026, 318 million people will face the threat of hunger or even more severe living conditions. This figure is more than double the data from 2019. However, due to a reduction in humanitarian aid funding, WFP will only be able to reach one-third of those in need of support.

Next year, the organization plans to assist 110 million of the most vulnerable people, which will require about 13 billion dollars. However, current estimates suggest that WFP may receive only about half of this amount.

In 2025, WFP's efforts helped many communities avoid disaster, but food issues continue to remain serious. 2026 is expected to be another year of acute food shortages caused by conflicts, extreme weather conditions, and economic instability.
