During his speech, Edil Baisalov emphasized that the situation with hunger in the world is a true tragedy that requires unity and collective efforts. “Hundreds of millions of people are suffering from poverty and deprivation, and we must take decisive action to alleviate their suffering,” he stated.
He paid special attention to the people of Palestine, who, according to him, are subjected to artificially induced hunger, which is a form of international crime. “We must express solidarity and do everything possible to help,” he added.
Baisalov also reported that Kyrgyzstan has become part of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, supporting the goals of eradicating poverty and ensuring food security for all. He noted that we cannot accept that millions of people are deprived of the basic right—the right to life and nutrition.
For reference: The Global Alliance was founded in 2024 during the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro with the aim of promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at eradicating poverty and hunger. Currently, the alliance includes 104 countries.
The Kyrgyz delegation, led by Edil Baisalov, is participating in the Second World Summit on Social Development in Doha (Qatar).
