The modernization and expansion of the "Manas" International Airport continues. Currently, concrete work is 70% complete. A new entrance has been opened on the west side, while the east entrance is temporarily closed.

Altynbek Mambetov, Director of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the "Manas" International Airport OJSC, conducted a tour of the construction site for journalists, where he discussed the timeline for completion and when the airport will be fully accessible to passengers and their greeters.

Previously, there was only one hall for arrivals and departures at the airport; now the terminal is divided into two zones: international and for EAEU countries. We strive to meet all international standards.

After the reconstruction and addition of new areas, the total area of the airport will increase by more than 20,000 square meters, totaling about 70,000 square meters. In addition to construction work, finishing and installation of engineering systems are underway. In the coming days, external finishing and glazing of the new building will begin.
A multi-level parking lot for more than 600 cars is being built near the airport, which will be connected to the airport by an overhead gallery.

According to Altynbek Mambetov, the new part of the airport will be equipped with elevators, escalators, and all necessary facilities for people with disabilities.

He also added that the financing of construction and reconstruction works is being carried out from the airport's own funds.

We plan to completely update the terminal equipment, including baggage belts, and the arrival area will be significantly expanded. Instead of 26 check-in counters, there will be 70.

According to him, construction is ongoing around the clock: about 400 people are involved during the day and 200 at night. The number of workers is expected to double by the end of February.

“We are ready to endure temporary inconveniences for future comfort. This is necessary not only for us but also for tourists, as the airport is the first thing they see, and it represents our country,” shared her opinion passenger Nazira, departing from Bishkek to Batken.

Currently, all restrictions on entry for greeters and those seeing off have been lifted.
We remind you that construction and reconstruction work at the airport began in May of this year and is expected to be completed in May 2026.
