At the dump in Sulyukt, located in the Batken region, two girls aged 6 and 7 were discovered who were forced to work, reports Turmush correspondent.

The children were collecting metal and other materials to help their grandmother.

According to Jazgul Ravshanbek kyzy, a specialist in the family and child protection department of the labor, social protection, and migration management in Sulyukt, both girls do not attend school.

She added that her department's staff, along with juvenile inspectors from the Sulyukt police department, regularly conduct preventive measures aimed at preventing child labor.

“In Sulyukt itself, cases of child involvement in labor activities and disruption of education are rarely recorded. However, during the last raid at the dump, two girls were found working with their grandmother. They are from the Lülü mahalla (ethnic Gypsies) and arrived from the Osh region,” said J. Ravshanbek kyzy.

According to the grandmother, their mother has died, and now she takes care of her two granddaughters. The girls do not attend school and earn a living by collecting garbage with their grandmother.

Officials from the relevant services spoke with the grandmother and warned her that if she is unable to provide proper care for the children, appropriate requests will be sent to government authorities.
