Aziza Jumanalieva, a resident of the village of Intymak in the Tyup district, started producing confectionery products right at home, which has become a source of additional income for her. In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, she shared how she underwent training and mastered this profession.

Aziza, who is raising two sons with her husband, is also continuing her studies at a higher educational institution. She was born in 1999 in Uzgen, but soon her family moved to Bishkek, where Aziza completed school and college, obtaining a degree as a primary school teacher. Her interest in confectionery arose when she helped her older sister, who opened a confectionery workshop. After getting married and moving to Intymak, while on maternity leave, she decided to develop her skills in confectionery.

Today, Aziza creates cakes weighing up to 9 kilograms, including wedding cakes, and actively updates her equipment. “My interest in this field began when I worked with my sister. The first time I tried to bake a cake on my own, it didn’t turn out well, but I didn’t give up on the idea. After enrolling in online courses during my maternity leave, I gained basic knowledge, then began attending offline classes and even went to Russia for practice,” she shares.

Initially, Aziza accepted orders only for family events in her village, but with her husband's support, they acquired the necessary equipment, including a freezer and a professional oven, for about 400,000 soms. Since the fall of 2025, she has started to expand her client base, accepting orders from Karakol as well.

The prices for her cakes vary depending on their weight: for example, cakes weighing 400–450 grams cost from 350 soms, while larger ones start from 3,000 soms. The largest cake she prepared weighed 9 kg and was a gift for her mother,” the artisan shares.

Additionally, Aziza emphasized the importance of education for women and continues her studies remotely, focusing on pedagogical sciences. In the future, she dreams of opening her own confectionery workshop, possibly in the Tyup district or Karakol. “I am very grateful to my family, my parents, my husband's relatives, and of course, my husband for supporting my passion and endeavors,” she says.
