Local residents expressed their dissatisfaction with this decision. "Discussion in the village chat showed that only 15 people supported the renaming, while 140 opposed it. Our opinion is not taken into account," they reported.
Furthermore, residents noted that a meeting organized by local authorities took place on January 22 at 10:30, when most people were at work and unable to participate.
In their opinion, such a way of conducting the meeting violates the principles of openness and citizen participation in matters concerning their lives. Participants in the meeting also expressed the view that the initiative to rename serves the interests of one influential person and his family, rather than the entire population of the village, which raises serious concerns.
In this regard, residents are appealing to government bodies to pay attention to the violations and exclude the renaming of the village of Dmitrievka from the agenda.
