Asel Azamatova has turned to the police, and an investigation has been initiated based on her complaint.
According to the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, Asel Azamatova filed a complaint requesting action against Eldar Suimanov, her ex-husband and a current member of the Jogorku Kenesh. She claims that he has subjected her to psychological pressure for a long time and has previously used physical force.
According to information from the Bishkek City Police Department, the complaint has been registered, and a preliminary investigation has begun. In response to the situation, a protection order has been issued. Currently, all necessary measures are being taken, and the case is under the control of the capital's police leadership.
Asel Azamatova previously posted on social media about the systematic violence in her family from her ex-husband, the deputy, as well as about the police's lack of response to her appeals. After that, she was summoned to the Bishkek City Police Department for a conversation to clarify the details of her previous appeals to law enforcement agencies.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that if the facts of violence are confirmed, the investigative authorities are obliged to initiate a criminal case and forward the materials to the prosecutor's office. Holding the deputy accountable is only possible with the consent of the Jogorku Kenesh, as he enjoys parliamentary immunity.
