In her social media posts, she admitted that she could no longer remain in the shadows and stay silent about what was happening. According to her, their marriage, which took place in 2016, began after Sulaymanov divorced his first wife and had a son.
“At first, everything was relatively good, but soon arguments and misunderstandings began. After two years, his infidelities and beatings became regular, and he would hit me for not accepting it. I forgave him because I was afraid of being left alone with two children. I felt sorry for the kids, whom I didn’t want to leave without a father. At one point, he even tried to act like an ideal husband, but that didn’t last long,” she recounted.
“At the beginning of 2022, I found out I was pregnant. I was happy, and he seemed to be too. However, the real nightmare began when Eldar became a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh. During this period, he started abusing alcohol and raising his hand against me,” Asel added.“He later explained his actions by saying he was ‘intoxicated by power’,” she noted.
“I was hospitalized, I filed a complaint, went through all the necessary procedures, and received the ‘Istanbul Protocol,’ but it had no consequences. None of the law enforcement agencies even bothered to check if I was alive. Feeling completely dependent on him, after a few months, I forgave Eldar, even though his drinking and violence did not stop. In the end, I had to file for divorce, having three children, the youngest of whom was only three months old. The violence became unbearable,” Azamatova recounted.
According to her, the deputy took away the car she used to transport the children and stopped their financial support during every argument.
“I looked for part-time work, leaving the children, including the infant, for a while. On July 28, 2023, he came without warning and tried to take the older children. I refused to give them to him, fearing he wouldn’t return them, and for that, he hit me, and I fell to the floor. Resisting was useless; he weighs about 100 kg, while I only weigh 50-52 kg. In a fit of anger, I ran outside and broke the glass in his car. He saw this and called the police. As a result, my five-month-old baby and I were almost detained for three days for damaging his property. After that, court hearings began, where I was convicted. The paradox is that when a pregnant woman is beaten to near death, no one reacts because the abuser is a high-ranking individual, but if you just break a couple of windows, you are dragged through the courts,” Asel summarized.

Eldar Sulaymanov refused to comment on the situation over the phone with a correspondent from Kaktus.media, promising to provide an official statement.The statement emphasizes that the conflict between the spouses is personal and has been ongoing for a long time.“The accusations that are being voiced in the public space are one-sided and require legal assessment. At present, there is no court decision confirming my guilt. In accordance with the principle of presumption of innocence, all accusations should be considered within the framework of the law,” the documents state.
The deputy also expressed readiness for an objective investigation of the circumstances and urged the public and the media to refrain from premature conclusions until the decisions of the competent authorities.
