In Kyrgyzstan, according to Deputy Minister of Justice Orozbek Sydykov, there is an average of 21,000 people per lawyer. This information was announced on January 27 at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with constitutional legislation issues.

Sydykov noted that, for comparison, in the United States this figure is approximately 300 people, while in European countries it ranges from 500 to 2000.
The shortage of lawyers is particularly acute in remote and densely populated areas, where there are often no qualified specialists capable of providing the necessary legal assistance.
In light of this situation, the draft law proposes the introduction of a localized license for lawyers, which will allow them to work in specific regions on a voluntary basis within the framework of the state-guaranteed legal assistance system.

Sydykov emphasized that this initiative is aimed at improving access to qualified legal assistance for the population and addressing regional imbalances.
During the meeting, the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh also reviewed a draft law that includes changes to the licensing of legal practice, the system of state legal assistance, and the procedure for establishing membership fees for lawyers.
