Kyrgyzstan's lawsuit against Russia - the KR FMS explained the claim

"The claim was filed on behalf of the government"

The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has initiated a lawsuit against the Russian Federation concerning medical care for migrants. This was reported by A. Mukanova, the chairwoman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

The agency stated that the appeal was submitted through the Judicial Representation Center at the Ministry of Justice of the KR. The main goal of this action is to obtain clarifications on paragraphs 3 and 4 of Article 98 of the EAEU Treaty, signed on May 29, 2014, regarding social security and mandatory health insurance for the family members of workers from the Union countries.

The Fund noted that the Kyrgyz Republic strictly fulfills its obligations within the framework of the EAEU. In the territory of the country, family members of workers from EAEU states who are legally in Kyrgyzstan can receive medical assistance through the mandatory health insurance system, according to the State Guarantees Program.

The issue of access to the mandatory health insurance system for the families of Kyrgyz citizens working in other EAEU countries is regularly discussed by the Kyrgyz side within the framework of the Union's working bodies and intergovernmental commissions. Such an appeal to the EAEU Court is an important step in the context of dialogue within the framework of the integration association.
