In the Bazar-Korgon district, where more than 200,000 people live, there are currently only three ambulances in operation. Two of these vehicles serve mountainous areas, while one serves the population within a distance of up to 100 kilometers. This was reported by Batyrbek Subankulov, the chief physician of the Bazar-Korgon District Center for General Medical Practice named after Bekmurza Ismailov.

According to Subankulov, the issue of the shortage of ambulances is on the agenda. “Updating our fleet is a necessity. There are three ambulance stations in the district: the first is located in the Arstanbap-Atyn rural community, the second in the village of Oogan-Talaa, and the third in Bazar-Korgon. All the vehicles currently in operation are heavily worn out, and we are forced to maintain their functionality through constant repairs. The last time the fleet was updated was six years ago when an ambulance 'Gazelle Sobol' was received, which, unfortunately, turned out to be unreliable and often breaks down, creating additional problems,” he noted.

The greatest burden falls on the department in Bazar-Korgon, which provides primary care to most residents of the district. There are times when a team dispatched to one call cannot quickly respond to the next due to a lack of vehicles, which causes dissatisfaction among locals. “We are reaching out to sponsors and representatives of local authorities for assistance in updating the fleet,” the chief physician added.

In total, the center for general medical practice has nine vehicles. Of these, two are no longer suitable for operation, three are under repair, and there are also two passenger cars, while the rest are ambulances.
