The issue of canceling mandatory fees for insurance and car tinting for citizens of Kyrgyzstan traveling through Uzbekistan is being discussed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Imangaziev noted that negotiations are currently underway with the Uzbek side on this matter.

According to Deputy Dastan Bekeshev, the problem is that Kyrgyz drivers traveling through Uzbekistan to the south of the country face demands to purchase insurance and pay for tinting, if applicable. The deputy expressed hope that Kyrgyzstan would be able to convince the Uzbek side to cancel these requirements.

Imangaziev confirmed that such a request has already been sent to the Uzbek authorities, who are currently dealing with internal procedures.

The Deputy Minister also added that if the Uzbek side does not cancel these fees in the near future, Kyrgyzstan will take reciprocal measures and introduce similar fees for citizens of Uzbekistan.
