According to the press service of the JSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan," these measures are aimed at the prevention and control of infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and the Nipah virus identified in India.
It is noted that the equipment was delivered to the country's main airport back in 2021, and it remains important in the context of existing epidemiological threats.
If a passenger is found to have a temperature above 37 degrees, the staff at the checkpoint contacts the Center for Quarantine and Particularly Dangerous Infections for further action,
after which the passenger is directed to a specialized center for analysis and diagnosis. In the case of influenza or a cold, the person is sent home for outpatient treatment, while if a more serious virus is detected, actions are taken according to the center's instructions.
Recently, the Kyrgyz Republic also introduced temporary restrictions on the import of animals susceptible to the Nipah virus and animal products from India.
