In Kyrgyzstan, gender change will be banned

Parents are required to raise their children based on their biological sex

A bill has been initiated in the Jogorku Kenesh that proposes a ban on gender change, and it has been put forward for public discussion.

The proposed amendments concern changes to the Family Code, as well as the laws "on civil status acts" and "On the protection of citizens' health." The main goal of these changes is to establish the immutability of biological sex in official documents and to limit procedures related to its alteration.

According to the authors of the initiative, a person's sex is determined solely based on biological characteristics recorded at the time of birth. Changes to records cannot be initiated by the citizen themselves, medical institutions, or court decisions. Any medical interventions aimed at changing sex, including surgical operations and hormone therapy, are prohibited, except in cases related to the treatment of congenital anomalies of sexual development.

It is also stipulated that parents must raise their children in accordance with their biological sex.
