The ak-kalpak will become an important visual symbol of the country
The official presentation of the national team’s equipment for the XXV Winter Olympic Games, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, was held at the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
The uniform for the athletes combines modern international technologies with bright national traditions. The ceremonial outfit is made in pure white and includes the ak-kalpak—a traditional headdress that will become a significant symbol of Kyrgyzstan at the opening of the games on February 6.
A specialized training outfit in a dark blue shade was developed, aimed at creating maximum comfort for athletes in challenging alpine conditions.
The creation of the gear was made possible thanks to the support of sponsors within the framework of cooperation between the State Agency for Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
At the Winter Olympic Games in Italy, Kyrgyz athletes will compete for medals in alpine skiing and cross-country skiing disciplines.
